"Calm, quiet! Quiet, calm. Laid back! This
horse is simply unflappable! If you want or
need a horse that will go anywhere, at
anytime, in any place, then you best look
hard at Navajo Joe! Truthfully, I believe I
could throw a firecracker under him and he
wouldn't move! Now I have owned Navajo Joe
for nearly a year now. Left him for a while
in Arkansas to grow and be ridden on flat
soft ground. I then moved him here to Twin
Ponds Ranch and am riding him now in the
snow, mud and ice at high elevations in the
mountains. This dandy fellow has had a lot
of riding! One time I was riding him in
Arkansas when we came up on a large pump on
a levee between two ponds. The several
hundred horsepower motor was pumping away at
a roar. With no place to go without falling
off the levee and into the water below,
Navajo stepped over the large pipe inches
from the running pump! Not a peep out of
him. This is an example of what this horse
is!
Yes, Navajo Joe is a registered Rocky, Mau's
Navajo Joe # 2011043922 and his grandpa's
are Sewells Sam and Sam Clemon's Tim who are
famous for having kind, gentle offspring. He
was broke and started by a lady who I have
purchased several horses from through the
years and everyone of them have been calm
and gentle as well. I took this horse and
put miles on him and exposed him to what a
trail horse/saddle horse has to experience
in his life before I sell the horse and a
client gets to enjoy the rewards and what
they paid for as well! The beautiful lady
riding him in these photos is not a
professional horse trainer but rather a
novice rider that has gotten on Navajo Joe
many, many times without so much as the
horse even looking at an object! The date of
these photos you are looking at is January
30, 2012. Navajo Joe stands in these photos
in full winter coat and muddy legs from a
two hour ride prior to his photos being
taken. Come Spring he will be the dark shiny
chocolate with near white mane and tail
everyone loves to look at. Today he needs to
keep warm...Spring is a ways off yet.
Navajo Joe is not for the person who blasts
down the trail at record speeds but what he
is intended for is the person who wants a
horse who doesn't get all excited when the
group of riders does comes blasting by. He
just does not care! He won't go charging off
after them nor will he care if his pasture
mate rides away from him on the trail. Not
many horse can I say that about. Ideal for
the person who rides with other breeds.
Ideal for the person who can't ride often or
months between rides! Ideal for children!
Ideal for guest. Ideal for the riders who
easily becomes nervous when riding. Steady,
sure and safe! Now that's Navajo Joe!
